Personal Information

Dr. Faiola is active in his church, having led its youth group for many years. He has made three trips to help build schools in Central America and volunteered in Guam, Barbuda and India. 

He is engaged in his community. He has helped lead United Way campaigns, regularly presents public lectures on health related topics, and taught a recurring health class on STDs and contraception or about 15 years at the W. F. West High School, in Chehalis. He has mentored, in his office, Family Practice residents in training from Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Washington and served as temporary faculty at the University of Washington affiliated Faculty Providence St Peter Hospital Family Practice Residency Program, Olympia, WA.

 

After 21 years in one location, Dr. Faiola worked or volunteered in Washington, Idaho, Wisconsin, India, Barbuda, Germany, and New Zealand. While construction his own office he practiced at the Sea Mar Community Clinic and Group Health Cooperative Medical Center, both in Olympia.

 

Dr. Richard Faiola  is married to Wenche Faiola, RN, originally from Norway. They have two adult children, Anne-Marie and Erik, and one grand-dog Samantha.

 

Special Skills and Interests

Dr. Faiola thoroughly enjoyed over 20 years of Obstetrics, delivering over 1000 babies, discontinuing in 2002. Vasectomy – several hundred performed. He enjoys teaching lay persons, physicians or nurses in training, high school students, community, and church groups. Dr. Faiola has an avid interest in herbal, alternative, complementary, and ethno-cultural healing systems. Such techniques are occasionally employed prudently, as an adjunct to conventional medicine. His Hobbies include travel, photography, SCUBA, and wildlife study.
